Cedars Ski Resort Bsharri is a ski resort located in the Bsharri mountains of north Lebanon. The natural area known as Cedars of God is nearby.
It is Lebanon’s oldest ski area and home to Lebanon’s first ski lift, built in 1953. The resort is about a two-hour drive and 130 km from Beirut.
The cedars resort is located in the North of Lebanon, nesting in Lebanon’s highest mountain range, on mount Mkamel and is arguably among the most beautiful spots in West Asia. From the summit of the mountain you are gifted with a panoramic view of Lebanon’s Mediterranean and on a clear day you can see the island of Cyprus. The cedar forest of Bcharre (also known as the Forest of Arz el Rab), is located just on the way toward the resort. Parts of the property reach to alomost 3,000m above sea level. The ski season starts in December and runs through to April at the Cedars. As an alternative, many visitors practice cross-country skiing, for which the Cedars is unrivalled, mainly because of the charming natural surroundings. Nine skiruns grace the slopes of the resort and five of these are designed for more experience skiers. The resort compound, about 15 minutes up to the mountain from the town of Bcharre, provides accommodation, dining, ski instructions, equipment rental, etc. Several hotels and chalets form a resort village of sorts.
